Job Overview:

United States Pharmacopeia (USP) is seeking a Program Manager to lead and support the growth initiatives of the Materials program. In this role, you will oversee projects from initiation to launch, ensuring successful execution. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to onboard materials production vendors, define goals and milestones, manage project deliverables, delegate tasks, monitor progress, improve processes, and ensure that program objectives and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Coordination: Define program goals and translate them into actionable plans. Effectively communicate plans across internal teams and external stakeholders through meetings, memos, emails, and project tracking tools.

  • Meeting Organization & Leadership: Organize and facilitate key program initiation and update meetings, including materials-focused discussions. Lead meetings to ensure clear objectives, action items, and follow-ups.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with scientists, quality, production & product management teams, and product development vendors to drive projects forward. Serve as a liaison between various departments, ensuring seamless execution.

  • Project Management & Execution: Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with strategic objectives. Track project milestones, monitor risks, and proactively implement solutions. Continuously improve processes to enhance project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

    • 7+ years of experience in project/program management, preferably in the life sciences or chemical industry. PMP certification is preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).

    • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with scientists, production teams, and external partners.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate meetings, create reports, and drive team alignment.

    • Familiarity with collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).

    • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, AchieveIt.

    • Experience using data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power Bi, and generating performance tracking reports.

    • Able to work flexible hours when needed to collaborate with global teams.
