Job Title: Medical Coding Trainer

Role Overview:

The Medical Coding Trainer is responsible for training and mentoring new joiners on medical coding concepts, client specifications, and the latest guidelines. The role involves monitoring trainees’ progress, providing structured feedback, and ensuring smooth onboarding into production teams.


Key Responsibilities:

Training & Development:

  • Deliver effective training on medical coding concepts, guidelines, and client-specific requirements.
  • Educate trainees on the latest updates and industry standards in coding.
  • Conduct one-on-one sessions for addressing repeated errors and ensuring improvement.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor trainee productivity and quality output per OJT glide path/ramp-up targets.
  • Provide structured feedback to trainees on productivity and quality.
  • Assist team leads with early confirmation of trainees by offering valuable performance insights.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that feedback from Quality Control (QC) is effectively communicated to trainees.
  • Collaborate with team leads to achieve process quality requirements and targets.

Process Improvement:

  • Develop and implement diverse training and coaching strategies tailored to trainee needs.

Job Specifications:

Education:

  • Any graduate with relevant training expertise.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
  • Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)
  • AHIMA-approved coding certifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional and relevant experience in Medical Coding, preferably with a specialty in Urgent Care.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in coaching and training in a structured manner.
  • Ability to implement varied training strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Mode:

Onsite - Work From Office (WFO)
