About the Role
Labcorp, a global leader in Life Sciences, is seeking a Principal Statistician to join its pre-clinical Global Statistical Services department. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced statistician to step into a leadership role, managing projects and supervising less-experienced statisticians. You will be responsible for statistical analysis, development of statistical methodology, and ensuring the quality of the work produced by the team.

This role is offered as a remote or hybrid position with the possibility to work from the Harrogate, North Yorkshire site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise less-experienced statisticians, providing guidance and support.

  • Project Management: Lead large global or major projects, ensuring timely and accurate statistical analysis.

  • Training and Development: Train and develop junior staff, fostering their growth within the team.

  • Methodology Development: Develop statistical methodologies for the analysis of study data, ensuring robust decision-making.

  • Quality Control: Perform quality control (QC) on the work of team members, ensuring adherence to high standards.

  • Statistical Analysis: Conduct statistical analysis on study data, interpreting results and making key decisions.

Education

  • MSc in Statistics or a related subject. Equivalent industry experience may substitute for education.

Skills and Experience

  • Circa 5 years of experience in statistical analysis, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, using SAS.

  • Ability to lead, coach, and inspire team members.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent organizational abilities.

  • Knowledge of technical and regulatory requirements is advantageous.

  • People management experience is desirable, with an aspiration to lead a team in the future.
