Post-Doctoral Fellow - 34229 | University of Colorado Denver

Position Overview: The University of Colorado Denver is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join its research team focusing on implementing and evaluating deep reinforcement learning (DRL) systems. The role involves the development of explanation systems to describe the decisions made by these models. The position offers a hybrid work option, depending on the phase of the project and progress in research.

Position Details:

  • Official Title: Postdoctoral Fellow
  • Full-Time Employment: 40 hours per week
  • Salary: $4,707 per month
  • Workplace Modality: In-person with a hybrid work option available

What You Will Do:

  • Lead research and development of explanation systems for DRL systems.
  • Analyze deep reinforcement learning models to develop explanations for their decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with a research team to achieve project milestones and meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizen (due to project funding requirements).
  • PhD in Computer Science or related field with at least 2 years of research experience, including PhD dissertation and publications.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 peer-reviewed publications as first or senior author.
  • Leadership, mentoring, and outreach experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong motivation for research and a solid understanding of relevant theories and methods.
