Role Overview

The Manager, Pharmacovigilance will oversee a team of direct reports, managing the successful execution of pharmacovigilance projects. This role is responsible for ensuring project profitability, monitoring project progress, and identifying process improvements. The manager will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight, while promoting staff development and fostering an efficient, high-performing work environment.


Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight & Profitability: Monitor and support direct reports in achieving project goals and ensuring profitability.

  • Resource Management: Develop resource projections and ensure appropriate staffing to meet project objectives and client needs.

  • Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement plans to optimize operational efficiencies.

  • Team Leadership: Build, manage, and align a technical team to perform critical operational tasks, ensuring team goals are met.

  • Safety Management: Provide technical oversight in the development of safety management plans, SAE reconciliation plans, and other critical documents.

  • Training & Development: Deliver training to staff on pharmacovigilance topics and company systems. Promote continuous learning and career development within the team.

  • Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings, ensure client expectations are met, and support the development of new business opportunities.

  • Audit Support: Assist with audit preparation and response to findings, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Oversee vendor management, and ensure effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel (approximately 15%).


Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in pharmacovigilance, project management, and process optimization.

  • Leadership: Experience in leading and developing teams, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of pharmacovigilance regulations and safety management practices.

  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Education: Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine). Advanced degrees and certifications are a plus.
