Job Title: Retail Pharmacist

Location: Sullivan County Memorial Hospital, Missouri
Employment Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:

The Retail Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing pharmaceutical care, and offering guidance to patients on medication management and safety. The role requires interaction with healthcare professionals, patients, and the general public, ensuring proper medication use and compliance with regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medication Dispensing:

    • Accurately dispense medications according to prescriptions.

    • Ensure the correct dosage and labeling of medications.

    • Review patient history and drug interactions before dispensing.

  2. Patient Counseling:

    • Provide counseling to patients regarding medication use, side effects, and precautions.

    • Answer patients' questions and concerns about their prescriptions.

  3. Compliance and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of medications dispensed and patient interactions.

    • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practices.

  4. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure the proper treatment plans for patients.

    • Communicate with other healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions and patient needs.

  5. Inventory Management:

    • Monitor and maintain drug inventory levels.

    • Order medications and ensure timely restocking of supplies.


Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D.

  • Licensure:

    • Current State of Missouri Pharmacist License in good standing.

  • Experience:

    • 2-4 years of related clinical experience and/or training.

  • Skills:

    • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret professional documents, write reports, and present information clearly.

    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios in practical scenarios.

    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various forms.

    • Computer Skills: Familiarity with internet software and ability to learn hospital software systems and order processing systems.
