Job Summary:
As the Pharmacist, you will manage the pharmacy department's operations, including human resources, financial accountability, and regulatory compliance. You will support the director in pharmacy management, enforce policies, oversee inventory management, and ensure quality assurance. This role involves supervising staff at various levels, using both professional and supervisory discretion.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy: Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience: Required
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD): Preferred
  • Five years of pharmacy experience: Preferred
  • One year of leadership experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Pharmacist license in the state of practice: Required
  • Registered Pharmacist (RPH): Required

Essential Functions:

  • Manage pharmacy department operations, ensuring compliance with state and accreditation standards.
  • Oversee in-house pharmaceutical manufacturing and maintain proper control procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of pharmacy transactions as required by law.
  • Ensure the availability of antidotes and emergency drugs in both the pharmacy and patient care areas.
  • Inspect nursing units for medication dispensing, administration, and storage.
  • Develop policies related to the hospital's drug distribution system in collaboration with medical and nursing staff.
  • Perform duties as a Staff Pharmacist, including preparing and dispensing medications, and conducting cart fill checks.
  • Undertake other job-related duties as assigned.
