Job Overview

Cibola General Hospital is looking for a compassionate Clinical Hospital Pharmacist to join our dedicated team. This full-time position typically involves working four 10-hour shifts per week.

As a pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in patient care by dispensing medications, educating patients about their use, and advising healthcare practitioners on drug selection and dosages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications as prescribed by physicians and healthcare practitioners.
  • Verify the accuracy of medication orders, including type, dosage, and packaging.
  • Educate patients about medication side effects, correct dosages, and potential interactions.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal health regulations, including FDA and DEA guidelines.
  • Assist non-prescription customers by interpreting symptoms and providing suitable recommendations.
  • Ensure effective treatment through over-the-counter medications and topical ointments.
  • Monitor drug stock, ensuring that all medications are current and removing expired items.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and information.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through conferences, reading, and reviewing journals.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • PharmD or RPh from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid license to practice as a pharmacist.
  • Understanding of DEA and FDA health regulations.
  • Detail-oriented and responsible with a strong sense of integrity.
  • Ability to manage a large workload efficiently and accurately.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, personable demeanor, and effective communication abilities.
