Job Title: Pharmacist (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Location: Walgreens Pharmacy
Job Objectives
As a Walgreens Pharmacist, you will provide empathetic and knowledgeable pharmacy consulting services to patients, helping them understand medication usage and possible interactions. In addition to dispensing prescribed medications, you will perform preventive healthcare services such as immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcomes monitoring. This role includes assisting in optimizing pharmacy operations and contributing to a positive patient and team experience.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience
Engage with patients by providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues effectively.
Educate patients on medication usage, side effects, and preventive healthcare services offered at Walgreens.
Proactively promote Walgreens’ shift from transactional to interpersonal healthcare services.
Pharmacy Operations
Dispense and verify prescribed medications, ensuring compliance with laws and Walgreens' policies.
Perform pharmacist-specific tasks such as compounding, drug therapy reviews, and medication management.
Monitor insurance claims and resolve issues related to payment rejections.
Ensure the pharmacy meets Good Faith Dispensing policy requirements for controlled substances.
Healthcare Services
Administer immunizations, conduct diagnostic testing, and offer wellness services.
Provide therapeutic recommendations and collaborate with medical providers to optimize medication therapy.
Participate in community outreach to enhance Walgreens’ role as a healthcare destination.
Team Collaboration
Support the Pharmacy Manager in staff hiring, training, and performance management.
Foster teamwork and motivate team members by setting clear expectations and recognizing achievements.
Training & Development
Maintain current licensing, certifications, and knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare developments.
Complete required training and education to provide high-quality pharmacy services.
Seek mentorship and feedback for professional growth and continuous improvement.
Communication
Share relevant corporate health and wellness updates with the pharmacy team.
Basic Qualifications
BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited institution.
Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
Certified Immunizer or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire.
Experience in prescription dispensing and familiarity with state and federal controlled substance laws.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 1 year of retail pharmacy experience, including prescription filling, compliance, and pharmacy operations.
Proficiency with pharmacy software and technology systems.
Salary and Benefits
Hourly Rate: $52.00–$80.00, depending on experience, skills, and geographic location.
