Pharmacist for Critical Care and OR – Cincinnati Children's Hospital

Part-time | 20 hours/week | Rotating Shifts (including weekends)

Expected Starting Salary Range: $52.66 - $67.30 per hour

Join our dynamic team at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, where pharmacists play a key role in optimizing drug therapy and ensuring the safety and efficacy of medications used in critical care and the operating room. This position is integral in working with physicians and healthcare teams to provide the best patient outcomes through expert medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medication Orders: Evaluate orders based on patient history, weight, allergies, and drug compatibilities. Ensure all orders are complete and accurately recorded. Resolve any order-related issues and collaborate with the clinical team as needed.
  • Intravenous (IV) Preparations: Prepare and verify all IV preparations (e.g., TPN, antibiotics, chemotherapy) in compliance with departmental guidelines, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Chemotherapy Orders: Process and verify chemotherapy orders, ensuring appropriate precautions are taken during preparation. Double-check dosages and calculations with another pharmacist.
  • Resource Support: Serve as a key resource for medication-related inquiries, providing answers about drug interactions, dosing, and appropriate treatment regimens. Assist physicians and healthcare teams in making critical decisions related to patient care.
  • Educational Role: Meet the educational needs of patients, healthcare teams, students, and residents to improve the understanding of medication use and safety.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree
  • Pharmacist License in the state of Ohio (or licensure within 3 months of hire)
