Job Title: Telepharmacist – Remote (Part-Time)

Location: US - Remote (CarepathRx Tele-pharmacy & Technology Solutions)


Position Overview

CarepathRx seeks a Telepharmacist to serve multiple hospitals across states remotely, utilizing technology to enhance patient care and team performance. This role focuses on reviewing medication orders, conducting clinical interventions, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies.


Key Responsibilities

Telepharmacy Services

  • Perform remote order entry, medication verification, and counseling as required.

  • Provide clinical recommendations, including drug indications, dosages, interactions, and compatibilities.

Clinical Excellence

  • Address special considerations for pediatric, geriatric, pregnant/nursing, and impaired patients.

  • Maintain expertise in IV fluids, admixture, TPN, cardiac drips, chemotherapy, and more.

  • Resolve medication variances promptly and ensure compliance with client policies.

Operational Duties

  • Master multiple pharmacy information systems (PIS) and obtain required state licenses.

  • Document actions, recommendations, and interactions accurately in the system by the end of each shift.

Training and Development

  • Participate in training programs for new hires, clients, and software updates.

  • Stay updated on policies, clinical practices, and technological advancements.


Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Pharmacy (B.S. or PharmD).

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a hospital inpatient setting preferred.

Licensing:

  • Valid pharmacist license issued by the governing State Board of Pharmacy.

  • Willingness to obtain multiple state licenses, focusing on the Western US (e.g., AK, CO, WA, NV).

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Proficiency with MS Office, Google Drive, and basic troubleshooting of VPNs and automation systems.

  • Knowledge of formulary policies, pharmacy procedures, and customer service skills.
