Position Overview

Join Pediatric Associates as a Patient Access Representative in Poughkeepsie, NY, and become a key part of a team dedicated to providing outstanding pediatric care. In this role, you’ll ensure a smooth patient experience by managing phone calls, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient concerns with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities

Answer calls promptly, professionally, and courteously
Gather patient demographic data and document it accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
Schedule appointments and confirm details such as date, time, location, and provider
Direct callers to the appropriate department or manager as necessary
Perform patient outreach for missed or upcoming visits
Monitor and process voicemails and prescription lines
Assist with immunization records and document requests
Review daily schedules to ensure accuracy in provider appointments and documentation

Performance Requirements

Provide exceptional customer service to patients and callers
Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a healthcare environment
Ability to handle challenging interactions with composure
Multilingual candidates preferred but not required

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
Previous healthcare customer service or clerical experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable with multitasking and fast-paced environments

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed
Lift and carry up to 15 lbs
