Position: Part-Time Grant Writer (Contract, W2)
Location: Lombard, IL (Remote with occasional onsite meetings)
Hours: 20-25 hours/week


About Our Client:
Our client is a mission-driven non-profit organization seeking an experienced Part-Time Grant Writer to assist in securing funding through well-crafted grant proposals. This is a contract position offering flexibility while supporting the organization’s ongoing funding efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & Identify Grant Opportunities: Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant sources, including government agencies, foundations, and other funding bodies.
  • Write & Edit Grant Proposals: Draft clear, persuasive proposals that align with the organization’s mission and funding goals.
  • Grant Calendar Management: Develop and maintain a calendar to track grant deadlines and submission requirements.
  • Collaboration with Program Staff: Work closely with program staff to gather necessary data, statistics, and other supporting information for proposals.
  • Prepare Supporting Documents: Create budgets, narratives, and other necessary documents required by funding agencies.
  • Track & Monitor Submissions: Keep organized records of all submitted proposals, and track their status to ensure timely follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Proven track record in grant writing, with a history of successful proposals and applications.
  • Skills:
    • Strong research skills and familiarity with grant databases and funding sources.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
    • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
    • Local to Lombard, IL with the ability to attend onsite meetings 1-2 times per month.
    • Preferred availability during afternoon office hours.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and a 401K plan. Paid leave benefits may also apply in accordance with federal, state, or local law.
