Internship Program Overview:
The OncoImmuno Summer Intern Program at Johnson & Johnson is a 3-month, full-time internship designed for undergraduate and graduate students interested in oncology and immunology. This program offers students the opportunity to contribute to novel drug development in a large pharmaceutical R&D setting, gaining practical experience in experimental design, data analysis, and the development of new therapeutics. The internship will run from May 12 - August 15, 2025.

Interns will be assigned a mentor and will work on specific projects within the oncology or immunology teams. They will present their findings to project teams and senior leadership, and contribute to a research symposium at the end of the program. The role will involve both independent project work and cross-functional team collaborations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experimental design and execution in oncology/immunology.
  • Participate in department and cross-functional team meetings.
  • Data collection, record-keeping, and analysis.
  • Shadow key functional roles for learning opportunities.
  • Interpret and report findings in collaboration with senior personnel.
  • Conduct literature reviews and research on new technologies.
  • Lead abstract/poster preparation for the research symposium.
  • Leadership opportunities on group projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to other assigned projects.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited University or College program.
  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least four semesters and have some lab experience.
  • Pursuing a degree in biology, cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, computational biology, or related fields.
  • Graduate students must be pursuing a master’s or PhD.
  • Self-motivated and passionate about drug development and clinical research.
  • Proven leadership and participation in campus or service programs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in global, cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, etc.).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Preferred:

  • Prior lab experience in biological research.
  • Leadership potential in scientific or community-based initiatives.
