Position Overview

ProPharma is seeking a Multilingual Medical Information Specialist (MMIS) to join the Medical Information Contact Center. This role is responsible for providing medical and safety information, handling adverse event documentation, and translating documents between English and Spanish. The MMIS ensures compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies while supporting ProPharma’s pharmaceutical clients.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Information Service Delivery:

  • Respond to unsolicited medical and safety information requests from consumers, healthcare professionals, and other external customers through various channels (phone, email, letter, etc.) for ProPharma's pharmaceutical clients.
  • Provide labeled and unlabeled responses in compliance with regulatory requirements, client practices, and ProPharma SOPs.
  • Document adverse events, special situation events, pregnancy reports, and product complaints per regulatory requirements.
  • Translate English documents into Spanish and vice versa, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate communication.
  • Ensure tasks are completed within the specified deadlines according to ProPharma SOPs.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality checks on adverse event reporting, product quality complaints, and translations to maintain accuracy and consistency in medical information responses.
  • Review all medical inquiries and translations for quality in line with established standards.

General Tasks:

  • Provide after-hours support on a rotating basis based on business requirements.
  • Adhere to privacy policies to protect confidential information and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Follow health and safety policies and contribute to a safe working environment.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Nursing degree (RN/BS/BA/MS).
  • Mother tongue in Spanish and fluency in English.
  • Strong translation skills and the ability to maintain grammatical accuracy in both languages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading and professional telephone etiquette.
  • A working knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and industry regulations.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple inquiries within restrictive timeframes.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proactive problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software tools, including inquiry handling databases.
