Role Summary:

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical role designed to foster peer-to-peer interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and Thought Leaders (TLs) in the field of Oncology & Hematology. MSLs support safe and appropriate use of BMS products, promote scientific exchange, and bring back actionable insights that shape the medical strategy. They spend a significant portion of their time in the field engaging stakeholders and enabling patient access to life-changing therapies.


Key Responsibilities:

External Engagement:

  • Build and maintain scientific relationships with TLs, HCPs, and access stakeholders.

  • Respond to unsolicited medical and HEOR-related queries.

  • Present scientific and clinical data ethically and accurately.

  • Execute medical interaction plans for key accounts (e.g., Army, Railways, CGHS).

  • Monitor and understand treatment landscape, clinical trends, and competitor insights.

  • Provide actionable medical insights to internal stakeholders.

Medical Strategy Execution:

  • Develop and implement territory-specific Field Medical Plans.

  • Contribute to Medical Plans and scientific programs based on TL needs.

  • Participate in institutional account planning with cross-functional teams.

Internal Medical Support:

  • Deliver training and updates to internal teams (Medical, Commercial, Regulatory, Market Access, etc.).

  • Provide support during promotional meetings and assess speaker performance.

Clinical Trial Support:

  • Identify and assess study sites for interventional and non-interventional research.

  • Support recruitment, investigator engagement, and clinical operations.

  • Assist HCPs in Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) submissions.

  • Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance procedures and adverse event reporting.

Patient Advocacy & Education:

  • Support implementation of patient education programs and advocacy initiatives.

  • Collaborate in the creation of patient education materials.


Qualifications:

  • Education: MBBS, MD, BDS, or MDS

  • Experience:

    • 1–2 years of Field Medical/Medical Affairs experience preferred

    • Experience in Oncology & Hematology therapeutic areas highly preferred

  • Languages:

    • Fluent in English (spoken and written)


Desired Experience & Skills:

  • Strong scientific acumen and ability to translate complex data into clinical relevance

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and peer engagement skills

  • Experience with clinical trial design, processes, and scientific publications

  • Knowledge of Indian healthcare and access systems

  • Understanding of HEOR concepts is a plus

  • Self-driven, team player with an innovative and flexible mindset


Work Environment & Protocols:

  • Field-based role with extensive travel to HCPs, hospitals, and conferences.
