Role: Medical Services Specialist

Location:

Sydney Head Office, Millers Point NSW

Responsibilities:

  1. Specialized Medical/Scientific Information:

    • Provide specialized medical/scientific information to healthcare professionals (HCPs), consumers, internal stakeholders, and regulators in accordance with Viatris procedures and pharmaceutical industry standards.
  2. Clinical Knowledge:

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical studies and research developments within the assigned therapeutic portfolio.
  3. Promotional Material Review:

    • Review promotional materials consistent with the relevant industry code of conduct.
  4. Strategic Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement country-specific strategies and tactics focusing on clinicians, patients, and business needs for the product or therapeutic portfolio.
  5. Scientific Evidence Identification:

    • Identify scientific evidence for product updates and support product differentiation to address unmet customer and patient needs.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medical Science, relevant Health Science, or Medicine.
  • Higher degree (MSc or PhD) will be viewed favorably.
  • Minimum 2 years of prior experience in Medical & Scientific Affairs or higher degree (PhD) required.
  • Accredited in Medicines Australia Code of Conduct for the review of promotional materials.
  • Previous experience working in Ophthalmology or Neurology will be viewed favorably.

Other Competencies:

  • Ability to search for scientific information within the literature and conduct critical and thorough appraisal of scientific literature.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) of medical/scientific information to audiences with varying scientific understanding.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical responsibilities associated with the provision of medical information and/or pharmacovigilance.
  • Must be eligible to work in Australia (Australian Citizen or appropriate Visa holder).
