This field-based role will enable you to engage with healthcare professionals, present and communicate clinical and scientific data, and advance Amgen's scientific platform while supporting the company's broader goals and objectives.


What You Will Do:

As an MSL in the Rare Diseases therapeutic area, you will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Scientific and Clinical Communication:
    Engage with healthcare professionals to provide clinical and scientific data, addressing clinical queries and promoting scientific discussions around Amgen’s therapies in rare diseases.

  • Unsolicited Inquiries & Insights:
    Respond to unsolicited inquiries in line with MSL compliance standards and communicate field insights to internal teams to help inform decision-making and strategy development.

  • Local Outreach and Education:
    Develop and implement local outreach plans with opinion leaders (OLs), supporting scientific engagement, speaker training, and updates on new data.

  • Research Support:
    Contribute to Amgen-sponsored research and collaborate with potential investigators on non-sponsored clinical studies.

  • Project Leadership:
    Lead or participate in project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics, driving results and aligning with Amgen’s mission and values.

  • Congress & Event Support:
    Lead or assist with congress activities, ensuring alignment with the scientific strategy and driving Amgen’s presence and engagement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Collaborate with colleagues from various teams, acting as a key point of contact for scientific input across functions.

  • Professional Development:
    Maintain clinical and scientific expertise in rare diseases through continuous learning, completing assigned training in a timely manner.

  • Advocate for Amgen’s Values:
    Demonstrate integrity, tact, and professionalism in all communications and interactions, promoting Amgen’s core values and leadership attributes.


What We Expect of You:

We seek a dynamic and experienced professional with a passion for rare diseases and scientific collaboration. The ideal candidate will have:

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MSc) in a relevant scientific field is preferred. Candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area and substantial experience will also be considered.
  • Field-based experience as an MSL, Key Account Manager (KAM), or Sales Representative, preferably within the rare diseases sector.
  • Knowledge of the ABPI code and regulatory processes, with working knowledge of the NHS.
