Job Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a critical field-based resource for Sun Pharmaceutical (SUN), interacting with healthcare professionals (HCPs), thought leaders, payers, and managed care accounts. The MSL will deliver scientific, educational, and compliant information supporting dermatology products and will play a key role in fostering relationships, supporting research, and representing SUN’s medical values.

This is a remote field-based position covering the Pacific Northwest region, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Hawaii.


Responsibilities

Field Engagement & Scientific Communication

  • Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with HCPs and thought leaders, aligned with SUN’s goals.
  • Communicate complex scientific, clinical, and economic value information effectively to HCPs, payers, and formulary decision-makers.
  • Identify and train members of SUN’s speakers' bureau, keeping them updated with new data and guidelines.

Research Support

  • Respond to requests for Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISS) proposals, transitioning them to SUN for review and maintaining contact with HCPs if projects are approved.
  • Support SUN-sponsored research initiatives.

Internal & External Collaboration

  • Provide actionable field feedback to SUN stakeholders.
  • Foster scientific relationships with fellows in training and support medical education initiatives.
  • Participate in committees or project teams that support MSL strategies and tactical implementation.

Compliance & Communication

  • Respond to scientific inquiries in a compliant, fair-balanced manner consistent with SUN standards.
  • Ensure all interactions and communications adhere to applicable regulatory and compliance guidelines.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Doctorate/Terminal degree required (e.g., PharmD, MD, DO, DNP, PhD).
  • Dermatology background strongly preferred.
  • 1–3 years of clinical, research, or field medical experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, FDA regulations, and PhRMA code.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, team, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate clinical and non-clinical technical information.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 60–70%).
  • Valid driver’s license.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $175,500 – $200,000 (varies based on location and experience).
  • Performance Bonus: Eligible for the Annual Performance Bonus Plan.
