Position Overview
Lilly is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for the Mammakarzinom (Breast Cancer) Therapeutic Area, based in the Region Mitte (Central Germany). The MSL will serve as a key scientific resource, fostering relationships with healthcare professionals, contributing to clinical research, and sharing relevant scientific data related to breast cancer treatments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Scientific Support & Collaboration: Act as the scientific resource for the sales team, providing scientific expertise and information on breast cancer treatments and clinical studies.

  • Networking: Identify and establish relationships with Scientific Experts (SEs) and Clinical Experts (CEs) in the oncology field, particularly in breast cancer. Actively support clinical trial projects at academic institutions, universities, and research centers.

  • Scientific Exchange: Engage in scientific discussions with key opinion leaders and clinical professionals regarding breast cancer treatment, providing evidence-based data and updates on current studies and therapies. Present scientific findings both in-person and through virtual channels.

  • Training & Education: Develop scientific content for internal and external presentations, organize and moderate scientific events, and train colleagues on relevant scientific topics and clinical data.

  • Market Insight & Reporting: Gather insights into emerging trends, treatment patterns, and clinical developments within the oncology landscape. Provide internal teams with feedback regarding market dynamics and unmet medical needs.

  • Conference Participation: Actively participate in oncology conferences and symposia, presenting Lilly’s latest research findings and enhancing the scientific network within the oncology community.


Required Qualifications

  • Academic Background: A completed degree in Medicine, Life Sciences, or a related field. A PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.

  • Experience: Several years of experience in the field, particularly in a Medical Science Liaison role within oncology, with preference for experience in breast cancer.

  • Skills:

    • Ability to think strategically and develop plans to support scientific communication.
    • High degree of independence, ability to prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex scientific information to a variety of audiences.
    • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build relationships with key opinion leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in both German and English (spoken and written). Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Travel Requirement: Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region (Central Germany) and occasionally to international conferences and symposia.


Additional Skills (Preferred)

  • Breast Cancer Expertise: In-depth knowledge of breast cancer and related therapies is highly preferred.

  • Clinical Research: Familiarity with clinical trials, publication processes, and the overall medical affairs lifecycle.

  • Self-Driven: Proactive, autonomous work ethic and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team setting.
