Role Overview

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at Bristol Myers Squibb, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing the science of our medicines and optimizing patient access. This field-based role requires significant time in the field—approximately 60-70%—to engage with Thought Leaders (TLs) and Healthcare Providers (HCPs) within your assigned geography. Your goal is to support the safe and effective use of BMS products and provide critical insights to drive medical and commercial strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • External Environment and Customer Focus: Develop and nurture relationships with TLs, HCPs, and access stakeholders. Address scientific and product-related questions using various communication channels (1:1, group presentations, remote interactions). Stay updated on treatment strategies, products, and competitive landscapes. Provide actionable medical insights and report safety information as per BMS protocols.

  • Medical Support and Training: Support internal stakeholders with medical and scientific training, and provide updates on product and scientific developments. Present unbiased data at promotional meetings and support training for BMS-contracted speakers.

  • Clinical Trial Support: Assist with Interventional and Non-Interventional Research (NIR) studies, including site identification and patient recruitment. Provide recommendations on study and site feasibility and support Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) and HCPs in the submission process. Ensure adherence to pharmacovigilance procedures.

  • Patient Advocacy: Help implement patient education programs and create materials in collaboration with patient advocacy groups.

Qualifications

  • Education: MBBS, MD, BDS, or MDS.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of field medical experience in medical affairs preferred. Experience in the Cardiovascular therapy area is a plus.
  • Skills: Excellent English communication (both spoken and written), innovative mindset, ability to translate scientific data into practical insights, and proficiency in developing peer-to-peer relationships. Familiarity with clinical trial processes and HEOR concepts is advantageous.
