Role Overview

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) acts as a scientific expert within the assigned therapeutic area, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange with Thought Leaders (TLs) and healthcare professionals. The MSL ensures effective dissemination of scientific information, contributes to educational activities, and supports medical and clinical initiatives aligned with Bayer’s mission of “Health for all, Hunger for none.”


Primary Responsibilities

  1. Scientific Exchange and Dissemination:

    • Engage with Thought Leaders (TLs) proactively and reactively, delivering educational and scientific information.
    • Clarify and educate on scientific data, study protocols, and professional literature within regulatory guidelines.
  2. Engagement with Medical Societies and Advisory Boards:

    • Address medical/scientific inquiries from Medical Societies regarding Bayer products.
    • Organize, support, and participate in advisory board meetings.
  3. Congress Participation and Networking:

    • Represent Bayer at congresses and conventions.
    • Network with TLs, establish new connections, and gather competitive intelligence.
  4. Scientific Education Coordination:

    • Plan and organize scientific training and educational sessions for TLs.
  5. TL Profiling and Strategy Development:

    • Contribute to TL identification, profiling, and segmentation.
    • Assist in strategy and engagement planning in line with Medical Affairs objectives.
  6. Activity Reporting:

    • Prepare and submit timely reports tracking progress against set objectives.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific support, training, and education as required beyond primary activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  1. Educational Background:

    • Medical degree (MD/MBBS/BDS/MDS).
  2. Therapeutic Expertise:

    • Basic knowledge in areas such as Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetes, and Oncology.
    • Understanding of clinical trial design and rationale.
  3. Skills and Competencies:

    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
    • Strong relationship-building abilities with internal and external stakeholders.
