Job Description – Medical Sales Representative

Responsibilities:

  • Drive profitability and recognition by selling and providing services to customers, leveraging organizational tools, techniques, and intellectual capital to support the healthcare industry in improving processes, implementing new technologies, and meeting pharmaceutical and medical demands.
  • Maximize sales growth by utilizing in-depth knowledge of therapeutic disciplines and/or specialty areas to secure repeat business and foster customer loyalty.
  • Target, promote, and sell specialized products or services, identifying key customers and producers, achieving sales targets, and staying updated on product features, clinical efficacy, market trends, and customer satisfaction.
  • Align with company strategies and objectives to drive sales growth within a specified territory, enhancing customer loyalty and securing repeat business.
  • Educate healthcare professionals about the benefits of specialty products, comparing them with competitor offerings to increase prescriptions and product use.
  • Achieve activity goals and targets for the assigned territory, regularly updating the reporting manager on progress.
  • Identify and profile target customers and physicians, while maintaining and analyzing customer records.
  • Plan and conduct sales interviews, pre-call preparation, and self-analysis to continuously improve performance.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of product(s) and clinical efficacy to effectively communicate the benefits of the products.
  • Manage customer objections and escalate more complex issues when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records in reporting systems within specified timelines.
  • Use relevant software (e.g., Electronic Territory Management System, CRM systems) to update records and report daily activities.
  • Coordinate group events related to the specialty area to optimize business while adhering to local regulations.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market changes, keeping the Line Manager informed.
  • Participate in training courses, seminars, and read relevant publications to deepen knowledge of the specialty area.
  • Ensure the safe and proper use of company equipment.
  • Share experiences, techniques, and ideas to assist with training and development of colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the Line Manager to set activity, KPI tools, and performance targets.
  • Complete career development courses and other required training as needed.
  • Report any identified Adverse Events in accordance with prevailing guidelines.
  • Uphold a professional impression of the company and adhere to the Pharmaceutical Industry’s Code of Practice.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in Medical Sales.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare market and associated procedures.
  • Proficiency in software operating systems like MS Office and CRM systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct face-to-face presentations to customers.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
