Position Overview:

As the Medical Manager – GLP-1, you will actively contribute to the execution of the Medical Affairs strategy in India, focusing on the GLP-1 therapy area. You will work closely with commercial teams to drive medical education, scientific dialogue, and organizational readiness for new product launches. This role also involves fostering strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and managing a high-performing team of regional medical advisors (RMAs). The Medical Manager will report to the Senior Medical Manager and play a key role in implementing strategies that align with business objectives and enhance scientific credibility.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Affairs Strategy Execution:

    • Lead the implementation of medical affairs strategies for GLP-1 products in India.
    • Collaborate with commercial teams to drive medical education, enhance scientific dialogue, and support the successful launch of products.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to align national and regional medical strategies, ensuring compliance with local regulations and business needs.
  • Team Management & Development:

    • Build and lead a high-performing team of regional medical advisors (RMAs), implementing performance management strategies such as goal setting, feedback, and regular performance reviews.
    • Foster a culture of learning and development within the team, ensuring continuous professional and personal growth for direct reportees.
    • Identify high-potential medical professionals and provide opportunities for growth and development.
  • KOL Engagement & Scientific Advocacy:

    • Identify and map national and regional KOLs in the GLP-1 therapy area and engage regularly to build strong scientific relationships.
    • Guide field interactions to ensure RMA visits provide scientific value and align with therapeutic goals.
    • Support the development and delivery of presentations at local meetings, advisory boards, symposia, and external conferences.
  • Collaboration & Compliance:

    • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Compliance teams to ensure a consistent and compliant scientific message is delivered to the medical community.
    • Review regional and local KOL proposals for approval by the CMR Director and drive KOL engagement initiatives.
    • Provide oversight for Independent Scientific Support (ISS) and ensure timely conduct of titration visits, resource allocation for trial-related visits, and publication support.
  • Insight Generation & Strategy Alignment:

    • Generate insights for new launches and existing products, ensuring that the team is aligned with business objectives and market needs.
    • Support the Senior Medical Manager in refining and executing the medical strategy for GLP-1 products, ensuring alignment with global and regional goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • MD/MS in Pharmacology or equivalent (desired) from a reputed institution.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in medical affairs, particularly in diabetes management.
  • Experience:
    • Solid understanding of diabetes diseases and GLP-1 products.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively in a scientific context.
    • Experience in team management, including mentoring and developing junior medical professionals.
  • Skills:
    • Strong strategic, analytical, and planning skills, with a creative and innovative mindset to drive initiatives forward.
    • Ability to handle complex situations and provide actionable solutions.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels.
