Position Overview:

Fortrea is seeking a Medical Information and Drug Safety Specialist to respond to medical information queries, product quality complaints, and adverse drug reaction reports. This role involves executing drug safety data management processes, including call intake, documentation, peer review, and case follow-up.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to medical information queries, product quality complaints, and general inquiries received via telephone, email, fax, etc.
  • Record and report Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) within regulatory timelines, following internal work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Execute drug safety data management processes, including call intake, documentation, peer review, and case follow-up.
  • Track and monitor various types of information and metrics, conduct quality control (QC) checks, and assist with training activities.
  • Create and update training materials based on regulatory, system, and procedural changes.
  • Conduct training sessions and assess the effectiveness of the training provided.
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring the quality of processed data.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Pharmacy, Life Science, Medical Science, or a related area with 2-3 years of safety experience.
    • BS/BA + 2-3 years of safety experience.
    • MA/MS/PharmD + 1-2 years of safety experience.
    • Associate degree + 4-5 years of relevant experience or 2+ years of safety experience.
    • Non-degree + 5-6 years of relevant experience or 2+ years of safety experience.
  • Experience:

    • Safety experience includes processing AE/SAE reports, generating narratives, working with safety databases, and regulatory submissions.
    • Relevant experience includes work in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry in areas such as Medical Affairs, Clinical Data Entry, Clinical Data Management, Regulatory Affairs, or Quality Assurance.
  • Skills:

    • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
    • Experience in call center operations is preferred.
    • Ability to analyze and synthesize medical information.
    • Strong communication skills with attention to detail.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
    • Ability to function as a team player and work independently with moderate supervision.
