Job Summary:

The Medical History Writer / Medical Report Reviewer will be responsible for reviewing medical-legal reports, improving their format, fact-checking content, and writing medical history summaries based on medical records. This includes inserting biographical data, correcting formatting issues, verifying dates, and ensuring accuracy of medical facts cited in reports. You will work with clients, physicians, and your QA supervisor, ensuring reports are delivered on time.

This role involves:

  • Editing medical reports for clarity, formatting, and factual accuracy
  • Writing medical history summaries based on available records
  • Communicating with clients, physicians, and supervisors via phone and email
  • Managing time-sensitive projects with strict deadlines
  • Performing tasks as assigned by management

Training will require in-person attendance for the first few weeks, after which in-office time will be minimal.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred (areas of study such as English, Sciences/Health Care, Pre-Law, etc.). Paralegal background also encouraged.
  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience preferred. New graduates with strong academic performance will also be considered.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent writing and attention to detail
    • Strong communication skills with various stakeholders (physicians, attorneys, clients)
    • Ability to research medical records and reference materials effectively
    • Proficiency with office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PDFs, Cloud-based tools)
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Experience in medical, legal, or insurance fields is a plus, with successful hires coming from roles in nursing, pre-med, hospital scribing, research, or insurance claims management.
