Job Summary:

The Medical Data Analyst (MDA) is responsible for managing and curating medical data, ensuring high standards of accuracy, quality, and compliance. The MDA will play a vital role in data abstraction, medical record interpretation, quality assurance, and special projects. This role requires expertise in medical terminology, data management systems, and a strong commitment to maintaining data integrity and meeting project requirements.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

Data Management and Curation

  • Perform complex data abstraction, requiring interpretation of medical records for specified disease and project requirements.
  • Enter data accurately into electronic medical record and data capture systems.
  • Contribute actively to team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and learning initiatives.
  • Maintain a high level of medical knowledge and terminology, and stay updated on relevant medical trends.
  • Self-report activities such as time spent on records, audits completed, and any other reporting functions assigned by Operations and QA management teams.

Quality Assurance

  • Consistently meet minimum quality levels as defined in the QA plan for each project, ensuring accuracy (typically >95% depending on the project).
  • Address and resolve feedback provided by Quality Analysts, ensuring timely reconciliation of errors.
  • Participate in quarterly Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR) assessments to maintain and improve consistency across data analysis activities.

Special Projects

  • Lead or participate in special projects or client-specific initiatives as directed by management.
  • Contribute to project development and implementation, ensuring objectives and deadlines are met efficiently.

Education and Experience:

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Graduate or Post-Graduate in medical fields such as BDS, MDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BPT, MD.
  • Experience:
    • 0-5 years of experience in clinical or non-clinical fields, with a focus on data management, medical record handling, or related tasks.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Presentable and professional demeanor, with a pleasant attitude towards work and interactions with team members.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project goals and timelines.
