Position Overview

The Medical Content Development Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Medical Content Development team at EVERSANA. This role involves working closely with the Manager of Medical Content Development, as well as with cross-functional teams within the EVERSANA Compliance Business Unit (Medical Information, Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, and Quality). The specialist will support content development and related client engagements, primarily for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, digital therapeutics, and over-the-counter companies, with a particular focus on small and emerging clients.

The position is responsible for creating and managing scientifically rigorous medical content related to various therapeutic areas, including oncology, immuno-oncology, neurology, immunology, and rare diseases. This role requires collaboration with medical, legal, and regulatory teams, as well as expertise in medical content writing and document management technology platforms.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Content Development

  • Write and create scientifically accurate and strategically aligned medical content for Medical Affairs, Medical Information, and Medical Communications, including Scientific Response Documents (SRDs), FAQ documents, Slide Sets, Abstracts, Posters, Training Materials, and more.
  • Support the document development process, ensuring content is scientifically sound and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Facilitate document review and discussions at MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) meetings, ensuring timely and thorough feedback.
  • Manage content through document management platforms such as Veeva Vault PromoMats and MedComms, providing reference anchoring and annotations as required.
  • Perform scientific data fact-checking to support medical reviewers in the MLR process.

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Medical Content Development on project strategy, tactical execution, and communication approaches.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to discussions on content strategy and development.
  • Support the creation of thought leadership articles, publications, congress presentations, and other materials to promote medical content services.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of SOPs, checklists, templates, style guides, and other resources to ensure consistency and quality.

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Mentor and coach junior team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and work with leadership to implement new technologies and procedures to improve content development processes.

Job Expectations

  • Leadership: Provide mentorship and support for junior team members, as well as managing consultants who assist on client projects.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively across teams to drive project success and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all content is compliant with relevant industry standards, codes of practice, and company policies.
  • Travel: Minimal travel required (up to 10%) post-COVID.
  • Work Hours: Average of 40+ hours per week.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in developing medical content, particularly for Medical Information materials.
    • Experience in writing scientific documents such as Abstracts, Posters, and Manuscripts.
    • Familiarity with Veeva Vault MedComms/PromoMats and similar document management platforms.
    • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple therapeutic areas.

Preferred

  • Education: Advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD, MD, MBA) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in new product launches and supporting the development of materials for emerging therapies.
    • Experience working with small and emerging companies, especially in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industries.
