Qualifications:

CCS or CPC certification preferred.
At least 1 year of coding experience in ED, EM, or Denials.
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Medical Sciences.

Job Description:

As a Medical Coder, Senior Medical Coder, or QA, you will be responsible for:

Assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts using ICD-10-CM and CPT coding classification systems, ensuring adherence to coding rules and regulations.
Abstracting required clinical information from patient records.
Applying comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, pharmacology, and Medicare’s Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS).
Following official coding guidelines for ICD-10-CM and CPT, and meeting documentation requirements for accurate coding.
Maintaining high-quality standards with an accuracy rate of 95% or greater.
Utilizing technology effectively, including Encoder, CAC, MS Office, and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), to perform coding tasks.
Demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
Handling trauma cases and complex cases, with a preference for experience in orthopaedics and cardiology.
