Qualifications:

  • CCS or CPC certification preferred.
  • At least 1 year of coding experience in ED, EM, or Denials.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Medical Sciences.

Job Description:

As a Medical Coder, Senior Medical Coder, or QA, you will be responsible for:

  • Assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts using ICD-10-CM and CPT coding classification systems, ensuring adherence to coding rules and regulations.
  • Abstracting required clinical information from patient records.
  • Applying comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, pharmacology, and Medicare’s Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS).
  • Following official coding guidelines for ICD-10-CM and CPT, and meeting documentation requirements for accurate coding.
  • Maintaining high-quality standards with an accuracy rate of 95% or greater.
  • Utilizing technology effectively, including Encoder, CAC, MS Office, and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), to perform coding tasks.
  • Demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Handling trauma cases and complex cases, with a preference for experience in orthopaedics and cardiology.
