Job Title: Medical Coder – Evaluation & Management (E&M)

Job Description:

Join Access Healthcare as a Medical Coder - Evaluation & Management (E&M) and contribute to accurate medical coding, documentation, and compliance. This role requires expertise in E&M coding and a keen understanding of healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze medical records to identify services provided during patient evaluations and management.
  • Assign appropriate E&M codes based on the level of service rendered, ensuring compliance with CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS guidelines.
  • Maintain coding accuracy and adhere to documentation requirements for various E&M levels.
  • Stay updated with coding regulations from CMS, AMA, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and uphold patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify documentation discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to ensure accurate claims submission and timely reimbursement.
  • Conduct regular audits on coded medical records to identify errors and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in coding compliance programs to maintain accuracy and quality standards.

Job Requirements:

  • CPC, CCS-P, CRC, or equivalent coding certification.
  • Strong knowledge of Evaluation & Management (E&M) coding guidelines.
  • Proficiency in coding software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Compliance-oriented mindset with an understanding of healthcare regulations.
