Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Medical Coder and Biller with expertise in vascular coding. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of surgical coding experience, be familiar with CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes, CCI edits, DRG, and the use of modifiers. This position requires a strong understanding of human anatomy, medical terminology, and an analytical mindset to ensure smooth and accurate billing processes.

Essential Functions

  • Research and assign appropriate codes for vascular procedures (both office and surgical).
  • Assist with medical record documentation and chart preparation for doctors and other clinicians.
  • Transcribe medical records during patient visits, ensuring accuracy in diagnosis and procedure coding.
  • Assist with inquiries related to coding, documentation, billing, and denials.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA guidelines and internal procedures.
  • Utilize EHR systems (EPIC, eCW) to manage patient data and ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of medical coding experience.
  • 2+ years of surgical coding experience (vascular coding preferred).
  • CPC certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and human anatomy.
  • Experience with EHR systems (EPIC, eCW).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
