Position Overview:

As a Medical Affairs Specialist, you will assist in providing strategic and medical guidance for a diverse portfolio of products. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Novo Nordisk products are used properly and effectively, and you will demonstrate subject matter expertise in various medical affairs functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • PDP Process: Act as the PDP Secretary, driving the PDP process at the regional level.
  • Scientific Communication: Interpret and communicate clinical data to ensure proper use of Novo Nordisk products.
  • Clinical Impact: Assess the clinical importance of new findings and their impact on the treatment of diabetes, obesity, rare diseases, and OSCD.
  • Medical Guidance: Provide timely, accurate, and credible medical guidance across various medical affairs focus areas.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between Novo Nordisk and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
  • Collaboration: Ensure effective collaboration between medical affairs teams and cross-functional departments.
  • Content Development: Coordinate content development for medical meetings, scientific events, and communication materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • KOL & Association Engagement:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
    • Plan and execute scientific discussions, meetings, and symposia with KOLs and other stakeholders.
    • Gather and analyze feedback from KOL interactions to drive scientific strategy and development.
  • Medical Guidance & Support:

    • Develop medical guidance documents and digital solutions for use by affiliates.
    • Provide medical affairs support for legal and competitor issues and contribute to market access strategies.
    • Deliver training and medical education materials for global and regional teams.
  • Communication & Strategy Execution:

    • Transform clinical trial data into compelling scientific and commercial communications.
    • Coordinate and schedule meetings and ensure the alignment of discussions with cross-functional teams.
    • Plan and execute health care professional strategies and communicate effectively with stakeholders in various settings.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Education: M.D. with substantial clinical or research expertise (e.g., Endocrinology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine).
  • Experience: At least 2 years of clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably with a focus on diabetes mellitus and advanced scientific analysis.
  • Skills: Strong clinical background with expertise in drug development, research, and clinical medicine. Fluency in both spoken and written English.
  • Research Experience: Demonstrated research experience, such as publications in relevant medical fields.
  • Collaboration: Experience working with global teams and cross-functional departments.

The Global Medical Affairs department in Bangalore is an extension of the Global Medical Affairs headquarters in Denmark. The team consists of highly motivated medical professionals, including scientific advisors, project managers, and publication managers, working together to communicate scientific and medical knowledge on Novo Nordisk products.
