Position Overview:

As a Medical Affairs Specialist, you will be a key contributor to providing strategic and medical guidance for Novo Nordisk's portfolio of products in the APAC region. You will serve as a subject matter expert and support critical medical affairs initiatives, ensuring the proper use of our products and contributing to advancing treatment in areas like diabetes, obesity, and rare diseases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • PDP Process Management: Actively serve as the PDP Secretary, driving the PDP process at the regional level.
  • Scientific Communication: Translate and communicate clinical data to ensure proper usage of Novo Nordisk products.
  • Clinical Impact: Assess the importance of new findings and their impact on treatment approaches in key therapeutic areas.
  • Medical Guidance: Provide credible and accurate scientific guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • KOL & Association Engagement:

    • Build and maintain relationships with Global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and external experts.
    • Lead and support the execution of healthcare professional strategies globally.
    • Drive the development of scientific storylines and communication for global advisory boards and events.
  • Medical Guidance & Support:

    • Develop medical guidance documents and digital learning solutions for affiliates.
    • Provide support for legal and competitor issues, as well as market access negotiations.
    • Lead training efforts for key markets, regions, and affiliates on scientific and medical topics.
  • Communication & Collaboration:

    • Transform clinical trial data into scientific and commercial communications.
    • Coordinate and align discussions with cross-functional teams in content development for medical events.
    • Support the strategic communication of Novo Nordisk products to a broad range of stakeholders.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate who meets the following criteria:

  • Education: M.D. with clinical or research expertise in endocrinology, cardiology, general practice, or internal medicine.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in clinical medicine or the pharmaceutical industry, preferably with a focus on diabetes.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, advanced scientific analysis, and communication. Fluency in both written and spoken English.
  • Research Experience: Demonstrated research experience (e.g., publications) and interest in drug development.

The Global Medical Affairs team in Bangalore works as an extension of the Global Medical Affairs department headquartered in Denmark. This highly motivated team is responsible for providing strategic and scientific communication on Novo Nordisk products. Our work involves content development, project management, and publication planning for medical events, as well as engaging with the scientific community and other stakeholders.
