Job Summary:

The Medical Affairs Professional (MAP) is a therapeutically aligned Clinical Scientist who plays a critical role within the Medical Affairs team. The MAP will utilize their deep knowledge of disease states, available treatments, and investigational compounds to provide strategic thinking and contribute to lifecycle planning. The role requires cross-functional collaboration to meet both external customer and internal business needs, ensuring compliance with regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCP), and company policies.


Key Responsibilities:

Scientific Expertise & Medical Affairs Delivery:

  • Develop and contribute to the affiliate/therapeutic area medical plan and strategies in collaboration with the Clinical Research Partner (CRP).
  • Lead or support data analysis, the development of slides, publications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts), and scientific communications.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs roles (CRP, CRS, MSL, etc.) to deliver exceptional customer experiences through medical education initiatives and omnichannel engagement.
  • Contribute to insight generation related to the patient journey, treatment patterns, unmet needs, etc., alongside field medical teams (MSLs).
  • Support CRP in executing data generation plans that align with affiliate business goals.
  • Create medical information letters (local) and review regional/global letters in collaboration with the Medical Information function.
  • Participate in Scientific Data Disclosure (SDD) planning.
  • Provide medical/scientific leadership in collaboration with CRP, including support for research and regulatory deliverables.

Cross-functional Team Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary medical point of contact for cross-functional teams, contributing clinical, scientific, and strategic input.
  • Provide support for medical launches and contribute to medical strategies for brand plans.
  • Review and contribute to the development of promotional materials and other content for the Brand team.
  • Support the Patient Support Programs and assist in the development and review of related materials.
  • Lead the medical training needs for internal business partners (e.g., Sales, Marketing).
  • Oversee the analysis of customer information, anticipating challenges and providing relevant insights.
  • Lead and organize scientific exchange events, advisory boards, and educational symposia.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).

Customer Engagement & Experience:

  • Respond to external customer queries (in collaboration with Med Info & Sales) in accordance with company requirements for unsolicited requests.
  • Coordinate activities for Thought Leader engagement, including speaker training and ongoing relationship-building.
  • Develop and maintain connections with professional societies.
  • Facilitate scientific, educational, and customer engagement events, both virtual and face-to-face.
  • Collaborate on digital innovations to improve customer engagement.
  • Ensure positive customer experiences through leadership in medical affairs.

Collaboration with Regulatory:

  • Participate in the development and review of local labeling and modifications, ensuring compliance with affiliate CRP, global development teams, and regulatory/legal teams.
  • Provide medical expertise to the regulatory team, supporting regulatory reports, agency meetings, and registration efforts.
  • Support risk management planning alongside the affiliate CRP, global Development team(s), and Global Patient Safety (GPS).
  • Represent medical expertise in health authority meetings for regulatory submissions and advisory committees.

Professional Development:

  • Stay up-to-date with training and professional development activities.
  • Ensure that myPM objectives are met in alignment with company processes and policies.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) in a medically related field.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs, with expertise in disease states, treatments, and investigational compounds.
  • Experience in working cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., KOLs, regulatory bodies).
  • Strong understanding of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and regulatory compliance in medical affairs.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across functions.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
