Description:
Johnson & Johnson MedTech India seeks a Medical Affairs Lead based in Mumbai, India. Reporting to the Director – Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations and Device Safety, India, this role entails leading Medical Affairs for One Ethicon and CSS (Surgery and Cardiology Solutions portfolio), fostering cross-functional collaboration, customer focus, and a performance-driven culture. The incumbent will serve as the primary scientific representative in the therapeutic areas and represent the organization at internal and external platforms. Key responsibilities include driving the scientific foundation of franchise strategy, conceptualizing and executing various medical activities aligned with the franchise strategy, and ensuring scientific sanctity in all communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the scientific foundation of franchise strategy.
  • Conceptualize local clinical trials, explore publication opportunities, and evaluate IIS proposals.
  • Plan and manage a wide range of medical activities aligned with the franchise strategy, including research, publications, medical education, patient support programs, and advisory board meetings.
  • Develop and execute a structured engagement plan for scientific leaders.
  • Provide regular training and updates on the latest medical developments to the sales/marketing team.
  • Ensure scientific integrity in all external and internal communications.
  • Represent the organization at various internal and external platforms, including stakeholder meetings and scientific associations.

Qualifications:
Education:

  • Post Graduate Medical Degree, preferably in a surgical specialty.

Experience and Skills:

  • Approximately 8 - 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical/device industry in Medical Affairs, clinical research, or pharmacovigilance preferred.
  • Understanding of local regulatory policy and industry code of practice related to product promotion and clinical research is desirable.
