Job Title: Medical Advisor


Job Responsibilities

Strategic/Policy

  • Provide tactical and strategic inputs to the business unit, ensuring all initiatives and promotions align with ethical and scientific standards.
  • Actively contribute to creating policies and providing business and technical expertise to promote assigned products effectively.

Operational

Medical Initiatives/Support:

  • Provide strategic input for creating marketing and medical development plans.
  • Design and execute medical-marketing programs, clinical initiatives, and access-to-medicine campaigns.
  • Review and approve promotional, training, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) materials, ensuring compliance with SOPs, regulations, and industry codes.
  • Conduct and facilitate educational and promotional interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs), including advisory boards, CME programs, and scientific symposia.

Clinical Research

  • Develop, review, and approve clinical study documents, including protocols, informed consent forms (ICF), and patient information sheets, in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Assist in planning and preparing Investigational New Drug Applications (NDAs).
  • Review and interpret clinical data, write final reports, and execute publication plans for locally sponsored studies.
  • Develop and execute information dissemination programs to communicate clinical findings effectively.

Medical Information

  • Deliver accurate, balanced, and timely medical information to both internal teams (e.g., sales staff) and external customers (e.g., HCPs) while adhering to relevant SOPs and policies.

Sales Force Training

  • Provide comprehensive medical training to new and existing sales staff on therapeutic areas, assigned products, and basic sciences.
  • Lead training initiatives for product launches and refreshers to ensure the sales team is well-equipped with up-to-date knowledge.

New Product Planning/Development

  • Assist with global product pre-commercialization efforts, including market research, stakeholder engagement, and early access programs.
  • Support efforts to identify new product opportunities and recommend medical strategies for licensing, acquisitions, and co-promotions.
  • Coordinate the development of local formulations or line extensions, ensuring alignment with internal approval processes.

Regulatory

  • Provide medical expertise to support new product and indication registration with regulatory authorities through scientific presentations and published literature.
  • Defend marketed products against regulatory, NGO, or media challenges.
  • Write, revise, and review labeling documents for pipeline or local products in compliance with SOPs.
  • Offer medical support for adverse event (AE) reporting, ensuring adherence to relevant SOPs and processes.
