Job Title: Medical Advisor - Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH)

Location: Novo Nordisk, South Korea
Department: Clinical, Medical & Regulatory (CMR)

Are you passionate about advancing medical science and making a difference in the treatment of metabolic diseases?

Join us on an exciting journey to shape the future of Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) and expand our presence in innovative therapeutic areas like chronic kidney disease (CKD), cardiovascular disease (CVD), inflammation, and Alzheimer’s disease. As a Medical Advisor at Novo Nordisk Korea, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading global experts, contribute to cutting-edge research, and drive strategy in a dynamic and fast-evolving field.

About the Department:

Novo Nordisk Korea has been a market leader for over 30 years, providing groundbreaking solutions for diabetes, obesity, haemophilia, and growth hormone disorders. With double-digit sales growth and a top 15 ranking globally, we are poised for continued success as we expand into MASH and other serious chronic diseases. In our Other Serious Chronic Diseases (OSCD) division, we focus on building strong scientific leadership and expanding our therapeutic pipeline.

The Position:

As a Medical Advisor in the CMR department, you will play a pivotal role in establishing Novo Nordisk’s presence in the MASH therapy area. You will develop and execute local medical strategies, build partnerships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), and collaborate closely with both medical and commercial teams to ensure alignment in MASH-related initiatives. You will report directly to the Head of Medical Affairs, Korea.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Strategy: Lead the planning and execution of the local medical strategy for MASH, including identification of KOLs and development of engagement plans to support local decisions and strategies.
  • Publication and Communication: Draft and adapt global publication plans to meet local needs and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with professional associations and oversee Novo Nordisk’s presence at key congresses in the MASH space.
  • Clinical Trials: Provide guidance and support for clinical operations in MASH, assisting with the execution of clinical trials in areas where resources may be limited.
  • Market and Patient Insights: Seek opportunities to gather insights into the market and patient pathways in MASH to inform both internal medical and commercial business decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with medical and commercial teams in obesity to ensure the synergy and integration of MASH within the broader obesity therapeutic area.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you should:

  • Hold an MD, Ph.D., Pharm D, or Pharmacist qualification with experience in metabolic medicine (preferably diabetes, obesity, CVD, or dyslipidemia).
  • Have at least 6 years of experience in medical affairs within the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong understanding of medical affairs tools and activities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to bridge medical affairs and commercial priorities, with excellent medical communication skills.
  • Have a strong initiative and the ability to act in an agile, dynamic environment.
  • Be able to travel up to 30% of the time, both within South Korea and internationally.
  • Be fluent in both Korean and English, with a strong understanding of the local Korean market.

As a dynamic and innovative company, we are committed to improving patient care by embracing new challenges, fostering continuous development, and driving global impact.
