Job Description:
Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Medical Advisor to join their Immunology Medical team, with a key focus on advancing the immunology portfolio strategy. This role is a highly collaborative position that involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop, execute, and implement innovative medical strategies. The Medical Advisor will also play a pivotal role in mentoring the MSL team, establishing scientific relationships, and ensuring fast access to products for patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medical Affairs Strategy & Tactical Planning:

    • Develop a comprehensive Medical Affairs Strategy and Tactical Plan for Immunology, aligning with the local, regional, and global strategies.
    • Provide expert advice on immunology therapeutics and contribute to internal teams.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders such as marketing, regulatory, and medical education to ensure strategic alignment across teams.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Maintain and develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and scientific organizations to ensure strong external relationships.
    • Uncover and foster new partnerships with key scientific bodies and institutes.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing medical advice and supporting the development of educational materials, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
  3. Data Generation & Evidence Development:

    • Lead the development of data generation plans to address clinical data gaps, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and supporting overall brand strategy.
    • Manage safety reviews for data generation activities.
  4. KOL Engagement and External Relationships:

    • Establish a strong KOL engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
    • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and patient advocacy groups.
  5. Medical Communications & Education:

    • Collaborate with marketing, medical education, and market access teams to ensure comprehensive knowledge of therapeutic areas and brands.
    • Develop and review promotional, educational, and disease-state materials to ensure medical accuracy and compliance.
  6. MSL Mentorship:

    • Mentor and guide the MSL (Medical Science Liaison) team, providing support and leadership in the development and execution of field strategies.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Play an active role in cross-functional teams, leading the integration of medical affairs strategy into broader business initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Medical Degree (MBBS/MD); Additional degrees in public health/business management preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, with a focus on immunology, medical affairs, or as an MSL.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of medical affairs and clinical research.
    • Expertise in clinical data analysis, regulatory policies, and industry practices.
    • Proven track record of KOL engagement and successful medical activities.
    • Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills, especially with external stakeholders such as clinicians and allied health professionals.

Additional Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong strategic mindset and problem-solving ability.
  • Collaborative and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Knowledge of the local regulatory policy related to drug registration, pharmaceutical promotion, and clinical research.

Travel: 20-25% travel to meet stakeholders, participate in key medical meetings, and engage with key opinion leaders.
