About the Department

Join the Novo Nordisk Medical Affairs team in Oceania, part of our Clinical, Medical, Regulatory (CMR) department. The team plays a pivotal role in advancing Novo Nordisk's portfolio of innovative products, shaping business decisions through data-driven insights, and fostering scientific exchange to drive education and growth. As part of a high-growth affiliate in a rapidly expanding market, this team is dedicated to improving the lives of patients, particularly in diabetes, endocrinology, and rare diseases. You will be working closely under the leadership of the Medical Affairs Manager, with the opportunity to make a significant impact on the success of both established and pipeline products.


The Position

As a Medical Advisor, you will be a key contributor to the strategic development and execution of medical strategies that align with business objectives. You will engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), support clinical trials, provide scientific education, and drive the successful development and dissemination of medical content. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact in the treatment of diabetes and other therapeutic areas, with responsibilities including:

  • Developing Medical Strategy: Drive the medical strategy for assigned portfolios to align with brand and business priorities.
  • KOL Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with KOLs, facilitate site education visits, support investigator-sponsored studies, and coordinate speaker engagements.
  • Scientific Communication: Present at national and international conferences, develop and execute publication plans, and engage external authors for scientific collaborations.
  • Medical Education: Develop and implement the medical education strategy for assigned portfolios. Review commercial-led education meetings, attend conferences, and ensure high-quality education for healthcare professionals.
  • Internal Training & Support: Provide internal training on scientific data, support strategy implementation, approve promotional materials, and offer tailored medical responses to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements: A PhD in life sciences, Medical Degree (MD), or a postgraduate qualification in pharmacy or life sciences is desired.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical affairs. Experience in endocrinology, diabetes, or rare diseases is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with TGA and other local regulatory guidelines is required.
  • Eligibility: You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
