Job Summary

The Medical Affairs Professional (MAP) serves as a clinically aligned scientist within our Medical Affairs organization. This role leverages in-depth knowledge of disease states, treatments, and investigational compounds to support strategic thinking and life cycle planning.

The MAP is pivotal in cross-functional collaboration with the Brand team, ensuring that all medical activities comply with local and international regulations, Good Clinical Practices, and Lilly policies. The MAP's efforts align with our broader affiliate and Medical functional vision.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Expertise and Medical Affairs Delivery

  • Contribute to the affiliate medical plan and strategies alongside the Clinical Research Partner (CRP).

  • Lead data analysis and assist in developing publications, including abstracts and manuscripts.

  • Collaborate with existing Medical Affairs roles (e.g., CRP, CRS, MSL) to enhance customer experiences through medical education initiatives using various engagement tools.

  • Gather insights related to patient journeys, treatment patterns, and unmet needs in partnership with field medical teams (MSLs).

  • Support the CRP in executing data generation plans aligned with business objectives.

  • Create and review local medical information letters in collaboration with the Medical Information function.

  • Assist in Scientific Data Disclosure (SDD) plans and support research and regulatory deliverables.

Cross-Functional Team Collaboration

  • Act as the primary medical contact for cross-functional teams, including the brand team.

  • Provide clinical and scientific input to support brand strategies and local materials.

  • Communicate effectively to enhance understanding of therapeutic landscapes and clinical knowledge.

  • Oversee medical components of local Patient Support Programs.

  • Facilitate medical training for internal partners, including Sales and Marketing teams.

  • Lead planning for educational meetings, symposia, and advisory boards with healthcare professionals.

Customer Engagement & Experience

  • Address external customer inquiries, escalating issues as needed.

  • Coordinate activities with Thought Leaders and engage in speaker training.

  • Develop relationships with professional societies and deliver scientific presentations at meetings.

  • Innovate customer engagement through digital tools to improve experiences.

Regulatory Collaboration

  • Participate in developing local labeling and modifications, ensuring compliance with regulations.

  • Provide medical expertise for regulatory submissions and participate in health authority meetings.

  • Collaborate on risk management planning with CRP and global teams.

Professional Development

  • Stay updated on training opportunities for professional growth.

  • Complete myPM objectives per company processes and ensure compliance with policies.
