Key Responsibilities

1. Area Business Development

  • Develop a sales plan in line with affiliate guidelines, annual targets, and historical sales trends.
  • Drive hospital and customer-specific planning, allocating targets to respective Territory Managers (TMs) in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
  • Maintain an understanding of the local and national health economy and healthcare decision-making processes to effectively position Lilly resources.
  • Identify new market opportunities and customers, reviewing TM territory business plans to suggest necessary adjustments.
  • Manage relationships with stockists, paramedical staff, and retailers.
  • Adjust the district business plan based on implementation, results, resource availability, and local market changes.
  • Performance Metrics: Sales target achievement for self and team; compliance adherence.

2. Sales Rep Development

  • Source and select TMs for the team, onboarding new members and establishing personal connections.
  • Collaborate with TMs to identify career goals and create individual development plans.
  • Utilize professional networks to provide development opportunities for TMs.
  • Assist TMs in preparing territory plans and educational materials.
  • Coach TMs in the field on sales skills, including relationship management and in-clinic effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and use the Lilly Coaching Model for effective coaching.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and guide TMs on improvement strategies.
  • Performance Metrics: Timely vacancy closures; quality of hires; team retention; compliance adherence.

3. Customer Relationship Management

  • Assign Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement responsibilities among team members.
  • Plan customer engagement activities in collaboration with marketing and guide TMs in selecting appropriate activities.
  • Build personal rapport with key customers to strengthen relationships.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of engagement activities through feedback from customers and TMs.
  • Share market insights with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Medical Affairs.
  • Performance Metrics: KOL feedback; participation in engagement programs.

4. Reporting and Analysis

  • Review on-demand reports, 90-day action plans, and monthly trackers for TMs.
  • Validate stock and sales statements for the area and prepare weekly sales reports.
  • Create a monthly sales tracker and present overall performance during business reviews, highlighting successes and challenges.
  • Performance Metrics: Timeliness and accuracy of report submissions and data analysis.
