Role Overview

As the Lead, Clinical Development Operations Analyst, you will drive efficiencies through business process improvements and system support. This role involves developing tools, processes, and best practices to enhance productivity, educate users, and provide regular updates on progress and changes. You will work closely with business units, IT teams, and leadership to monitor data quality and develop innovative solutions for operational improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Business Process & Systems Improvement:

    • Lead efforts to streamline operations and improve data flows and workflow tools.
    • Develop and support tools, processes, and best practices to enhance productivity and provide education to internal teams and business users.
    • Identify opportunities to improve data integrity, automation, and reporting capabilities, and lead initiatives to implement improvements.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication:

    • Serve as the liaison between clinical development teams and IT/Analytics teams to monitor data quality and ensure timely reporting.
    • Prepare recommendations based on analysis of business requirements and collaborate with leadership to improve systems and processes.
    • Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and process changes to management and key leaders.
  • Leadership & Project Management:

    • Act as a leader within the team, setting standards and ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high quality.
    • Mentor and guide other team members, ensuring task prioritization and efficient time management.
    • Lead or support complex projects, including system enhancements, testing, training, and validation activities.
  • Reporting & Analytics:

    • Maintain oversight of complex reporting systems for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert for Analytics Dashboards and develop solutions to improve reporting.
    • Work with technical teams to design, test, and implement new system functionalities and modules.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, with preference for candidates with experience in CRO or pharmaceutical environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; experience with database development and architecture is preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, and SQL Server/Oracle for database interoperability is a plus.
  • Strong background in business analysis, including gathering business requirements for systems and process improvements.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication and customer-oriented skills for responding to user requests and managing complex issues.
  • Excellent documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
  • Experience leading projects, mentoring team members, and providing effective solutions for process improvement.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimal travel may be required (up to 25%).
