What You Will Do

Amgen’s Oncology Late Development Group is seeking a Medical Sciences Director to support the late-phase clinical development of oncology therapies. This is a key role that will drive the development of innovative oncology treatments, leveraging Amgen's advanced technology platforms, including Bispecific T Cell Engagers (BiTE®s), Bispecific Antibodies, and Small Molecules across a range of tumor types.

As the Medical Sciences Director, you will:

  • Clinical and Translational Leadership
    Serve as an internal clinical expert in translational and clinical oncology.
    Support the medical monitor in clinical trials and help resolve issues across cross-functional teams.
    Provide expertise in experimental design and data analysis for oncology trials.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to define clinical strategies and ensure their effective translation into study protocols and related documents.
    Collaborate with CROs, clinical research organizations, and oncology consultants to deliver key projects.

  • Clinical Trials & Data Analysis
    Ensure the integrity and governance of clinical protocols and the accurate interpretation of clinical data.
    Lead the analysis of clinical trial data to ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements.

  • Strategy & Innovation
    Provide intellectual insight into the ongoing development of clinical strategies, designing and implementing clinical trials that align with Amgen’s broader oncology goals.


What We Expect of You

The ideal candidate for the Medical Sciences Director role is a dynamic, innovative leader with a deep understanding of oncology clinical development. We are looking for someone who is skilled in managing complex clinical trials and can communicate scientific data effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of life sciences/healthcare experience, or
  • Master’s degree and 7 years of life sciences/healthcare experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of life sciences/healthcare experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical clinical drug development.
  • Experience in thoracic oncology clinical trials is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex scientific concepts to leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in designing, monitoring, and interpreting oncology clinical trials, in compliance with GCP and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with clinical data analysis tools such as Spotfire.
  • Experience drafting regulatory submission documents and contributing to scientific publications and conference presentations.
