Position: Quality Assurance Supervisor

Location: Flemington, NJ

Summary:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of workers involved in inspecting and testing ingredients, raw materials, packaging supplies, products, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing process. This role ensures compliance with Company and regulatory quality assurance standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Coordination:
    • Supervise and coordinate QA inspection activities.
    • Review QA inspection and monitoring records for completion and accuracy.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving:
    • Communicate with other departments to resolve quality issues.
    • Assist in investigating customer/consumer complaints.
  • Development and Compliance:
    • Assist in developing QA procedures and forms.
    • Conduct plant audits and participate in QA training programs.
    • Monitor and enforce compliance with JFI SQF quality policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Testing and Analysis:
    • Develop and recommend test procedures for products and raw materials.
    • Analyze and resolve work problems, assisting workers as needed.
    • Direct and advise personnel in special test procedures.
    • Prepare test solutions and compounds for laboratory personnel.
    • Test and analyze sample products, adjusting formulas and processes based on results.
  • Training and Records:
    • Train employees in SOPs, ensuring training effectiveness.
    • Maintain time and testing records.
    • Supervise lab technicians and quality inspectors.
  • Team Participation:
    • Participate in plant teams and programs, such as the HAACP Team and SQF Teams.
    • Serve as an alternate to the QA Manager, Yogurt, ensuring effective coverage of Safe Quality Food responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Management, or a closely related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2+ years of Quality Assurance experience, preferably in a perishable food manufacturing environment.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends.
