Job Summary:

As the Lab Head, you will be responsible for the efficient management and operation of medical laboratory services, ensuring high standards of care, quality, and compliance. You will oversee laboratory processes, staff management, quality control, and maintain optimal performance. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in education, resource management, and the continuous improvement of laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on test choices, usage, and the interpretation of laboratory data.
  • Actively collaborate with NABL and other accrediting agencies, administrative officials, healthcare teams, and patients.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor standards for performance and quality improvement across laboratory services.
  • Ensure all laboratory processes generate reliable data and meet quality standards.
  • Oversee personnel management, ensuring the team is adequately trained and qualified to meet laboratory demands.
  • Plan and allocate resources to align with the medical environment.
  • Manage laboratory service administration, including budgeting and financial control.
  • Implement a safe laboratory environment, ensuring compliance with regulations and good practices.
  • Address complaints, requests, or suggestions from laboratory service users.
  • Ensure the accurate review of laboratory results, particularly in areas such as Hematology, Biochemistry, Immunoassay, Clinical Pathology, and Serology.
  • Approve SOPs and ensure adherence to accreditation requirements.
  • Review and improve report formats and ensure timely results reporting.
  • Monitor daily operations, including sample processing and kit availability, to prevent disruptions in service.
  • Participate in training programs and share knowledge with the laboratory team to foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical complaints, ensuring proper CAPA actions are taken and reducing analytical complaints.
  • Engage with B2B clients and external stakeholders to promote the laboratory's services and expand its reach.
  • Promote the laboratory’s tests and reports to clinicians and industry professionals, leveraging Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
  • Maintain self-compliance with internal policies, ensuring the laboratory’s adherence to required quality standards and objectives.
  • Ensure processes for the quality management system are established, implemented, and continuously improved.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in managing laboratory teams and training personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures, accreditation standards, and quality management systems.
  • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and personnel effectively.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and patient satisfaction.
  • Experience with the management of technical complaints and quality control.
