Lab Data Analyst – India

Department: Lab Clinical Data Services
Location: Mukundapur, West Bengal
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Overview:
Provide comprehensive clinical lab data expertise as part of a team to develop and maintain Laboratory Data Management (LDM) tasks for studies awarded to Q squared solutions, meeting the external client data reporting needs. May also support the development of new systems and processes related to the electronic data transfer process, or the configuration of business rules and master data in study and laboratory information systems. Understand and comply with core standard operating procedures and working instructions.

Essential Functions:

  • Capable of independently taking up Python programming activities for ongoing study requirements or other ad hoc department projects.

  • Create and/or review all appropriate data management documents.

  • Understand and comply with core standard operating procedures and working instructions.

  • Develop and maintain good communications and working relationships with the LDM team and serve as back-up for other Data Team Leads.

  • Interact with internal and external team members to negotiate timelines and responsibilities.

  • Train and mentor junior staff in Data Management expertise.

  • Ensure service and quality meet agreed-upon timelines and deliverables in data transmission agreements. Ensure quality checks are performed on data files before transmission and obtain peer-review where required.

  • Record evidence of the data transmission process from file definition to study closure.

  • Ensure specification and design documentation is filed and stored per company policy.

  • Address and resolve internal and external customer queries in a timely manner.

  • Use various communication styles to broker business and interpersonal relationships for successful outcomes.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the functional manager.

Local Lab/External Lab Role Specific:

  • Serve as Local/External Lab Lead for global studies, acting as the primary local lab contact for customers, CRAs, and site monitors.

  • Act as a resource for researchers, medical technologists, clinical laboratory scientists, medical laboratory technicians, and/or assistants in resolving data-related questions.

  • Provide scientific and technical advice to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery to the customer.

  • Manage the delivery of projects throughout the data management study lifecycle, from setup to lock.

  • Proactively resolve service level issues and develop contingency plans to mitigate laboratory risks.

  • Manage project timelines, quality issues, and escalate client requests as necessary.

  • Assist internal teams with data entry, review, and validation of laboratory reports.

  • Perform comprehensive quality control and edit check procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Local Lab/External Lab Role: Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist degree with clinical laboratory experience, OR a degree in Computer Science with Software Configuration and Validation experience.

  • 2-3 years of experience in Data Management and SAS Programming, with basic knowledge of SAS Programming and Data Management procedures.

  • For Local Lab/External Lab role: additional 2 years of relevant work experience in a clinical laboratory.

  • Strong customer focus with excellent communication skills for guiding customer relationships.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Good problem-solving skills and proactive identification of process improvements to reduce operational costs and maintain quality.

  • Knowledge of FDA, ICH, ISO HL7, and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) regulations.

  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems (user-level skills) and Microsoft Office applications.
