Position Overview:

The Scientific Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Global Scientific Communications team by ensuring the production of high-quality, error-free documents for regulatory and publication purposes. This role involves the editing, formatting, and finalization of scientific documents, as well as implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Scientific Communications Document Support:

    • Editing & Quality Review: Ensure the timely delivery of accurate and high-quality regulatory and publication documents that meet international writing standards.

    • Correct errors in grammar, style, formatting, and logic; ensure content consistency and accuracy across documents.

    • Produce final, eCTD-compliant PDFs using publishing software and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  2. Process Efficiency & Technology Advancement:

    • Maintain proficiency in document publishing tools and software.

    • Introduce new processes and tools to streamline workflows and improve the team's productivity.

    • Suggest improvements for document processes to minimize redundancy and improve effectiveness across teams.

  3. Therapeutic & Disease State Management:

    • Gain a working knowledge of the therapeutic areas, product information, and disease states to understand key priorities and communication strategies.

    • Apply this knowledge in editing and reviewing scientific documents.

  4. Collaboration & Customer Focus:

    • Work closely with cross-functional colleagues, vendors, and customers to resolve complex technical challenges.

    • Ensure high levels of customer service, meeting timelines and maintaining a strong focus on quality.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Skills & Experience:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

    • Proven project management and time management capabilities.

    • Ability to communicate complex technical challenges and negotiate solutions.

    • High proficiency in end-user computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized knowledge in editing and proofreading tools and techniques.

  • BELS certification (Board of Editors in the Life Sciences).

  • Familiarity with medical and statistical terminology.

  • Knowledge of scientific literature search and retrieval.
