Position Overview:

The Clinical Research Lead (CRL) is responsible for the management and oversight of clinical trial sites, including site identification, qualification, enrollment, and timely database locks. The CRL ensures that clinical trials are executed in compliance with regulatory requirements, scientific objectives, and global program delivery. This role is key to ensuring high-quality interactions with clinical trial sites and driving an outstanding customer experience while supporting the successful delivery of clinical programs.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Investigator Management:

    • Lead activities at clinical trial sites, including site identification, qualification, enrollment planning, trial recruitment, and database lock.

    • Ensure timely trial enrollment and quality data delivery.

    • Mitigate issues, identify opportunities to accelerate trial enrollment, and drive an unparalleled clinical trial experience.

  2. Clinical Trial Management:

    • Develop and implement site risk plans to ensure successful enrollment and timely database locks.

    • Ensure inspection readiness at the site and country levels.

    • Use metrics to inform decisions and work with internal teams to remove barriers to trial execution.

    • Understand local treatment paradigms and standard of care to support trial feasibility and strategic allocation.

  3. Vendor Management and Oversight:

    • Oversee site monitoring activities, identify risks, and ensure vendor performance aligns with expectations.

    • Ensure effective collaboration between sites, third-party vendors, and Lilly teams.

  4. Business Engagement and Collaboration:

    • Establish strong professional relationships with clinical investigators.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on priorities and deliver the portfolio.

    • Enhance the customer experience by addressing concerns and ensuring smooth trial execution.


Qualifications:

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

    • 8-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or clinical research.

    • Strong working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

    • Therapeutic area expertise and understanding of the clinical research landscape.

    • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage workload, influence without authority, and lead in uncertain situations.

  • Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or health-related field.

    • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    • Decision-making abilities and the ability to develop creative solutions.

    • Fluency in English and required languages for conducting business.

    • Ability to travel (50-75% of the time).
