Position Overview:

The Medical Writing position within the Medical Affairs (MA) department involves creating and managing scientifically accurate, clear, and concise content to support various Medical Affairs activities. This includes writing slide updates, manuscripts, educational materials, and regulatory documents. The position also focuses on collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring quality content development, and managing projects related to medical communication.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Content Strategy and Execution:

    • Develop and manage content for medical materials such as internal training slides, advisory board slides, patient and healthcare provider educational materials, newsletters, and competitive landscape slides.

    • Organize, write, and review documents such as regulatory submissions, scientific reports, and presentations, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

    • Coordinate expert and scientific reviews, adjust content as needed, and ensure alignment with internal and external input.

  2. Project and Stakeholder Management:

    • Lead writing projects, ensuring high-quality and timely completion of documents.

    • Develop and communicate project timelines and manage risks associated with delivery.

    • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth document development.

  3. Knowledge and Skills Development:

    • Maintain and enhance knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and compounds relevant to assigned projects.

    • Stay updated on regulatory guidelines and scientific communication trends.

    • Continuously improve scientific writing and communication skills.

  4. Knowledge Sharing:

    • Coach and guide colleagues on technical aspects of document development.

    • Share best practices and contribute to process improvements.

    • Provide expertise in database and document management systems.


Qualifications:

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, health, or communication-related field.

    • Demonstrated experience in technical or regulatory scientific writing.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Successful completion of a writing exercise as part of the evaluation process.

  • Additional Preferences:

    • Graduate degree with a research component or in life sciences.

    • Experience in writing regulatory or clinical trial documents.

    • Expertise in specific therapeutic areas such as neuroscience, oncology, immunology, or endocrinology.

    • Experience in project management, time management, and familiarity with computer tools (e.g., MS Word, PowerPoint).
