Purpose of the Role:

The Manager - Medical Affairs will work on providing oversight and ensuring that medical and promotional deliverables meet the required quality standards. The role involves managing deliverable review lifecycles, supporting medical writing/editing tasks, leveraging data analytics for process improvements, and providing leadership for process efficiency within the team. This individual will also coach and develop team members while driving strategic initiatives in Medical Affairs.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Subject Matter Expert for Procedures and Processes:

    • Understand Lilly’s culture, structure, and the regulatory environment.

    • Act as an expert in medical and marketing tactics, ensuring adherence to CIQ, MCA, and other approval processes.

    • Lead deviation investigations and apply solutions for recurring issues.

  2. Ensuring Quality, Speed, and Compliance:

    • Oversee and manage assigned work to ensure compliance with Medical Affairs and promotional standards.

    • Conduct capacity planning and resourcing for the Medical Affairs team.

    • Identify areas for continuous process improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance efficiency.

    • Track project progress and measure process performance using data-driven decisions.

  3. Coaching, Managing, and Developing Team:

    • Recruit, train, and mentor new staff.

    • Provide guidance on organizational goals and personal development plans.

    • Monitor employee engagement, team health, and performance metrics.

    • Lead coaching efforts and support team development through effective feedback and development programs.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Required:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in medical editing, copywriting, or proofreading in a pharmaceutical or regulated industry.

    • At least 2 years of formal management experience.

    • Strong experience in project management and leadership.

    • Expertise in medical and marketing content lifecycle and associated requirements.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

    • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Preferred:

    • Familiarity with tools like Veeva, Global Vision, Adobe Experience Manager, and analytics tools like Power BI or Tableau.

    • In-depth knowledge of CIQ/MCA procedures and processes.


Educational Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBBS, MPH).

  • Professional degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD).

  • Location: LCCI, Bangalore

  • Minimal travel is expected (<10%).
